Tom founded Ravinia Capital in 1998 and now serves as Managing Partner. He has more than 20 years of operating experience working in roles ranging from salesman to CEO. In 2016 he won ‘Distressed Dealmaker of the Year’ by the 8th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards. Tom is a frequent speaker on alternative capital raises in challenging situations, distressed investing, and business development and networking. He received a BA in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a JD from the University of Chicago and MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. Tom lives in Lincoln Park with his wife and three children. In his free time, Tom enjoys attending concerts, as well as exercising via high intensity interval training, hot yoga, and hiking. He is also involved with the Chicago Anti-Defamation League and the Old-Town School of Folk Music.

Eric joined Ravinia Capital in 2012 and was promoted to Partner in 2017. He leads Ravinia Capital's deal sourcing and execution team and has been instrumental in the company’s growth. In recognition of his deal making success, in 2017, Eric was named a winner of the 8th Annual Emerging Leaders Award by The M&A Advisor. Eric is also president of the Commercial Finance Association’s Midwest Chapter, after serving on the board in 2014, becoming treasurer in 2015 and then vice president in 2016. He is credited with improving the organization’s finances and overseeing its growth, including instituting new initiatives to reach out to minority professionals. Prior to joining Ravinia Capital, Eric advised on assignments that included enterprise valuation, lender services, asset appraisals, stock purchase agreements, and financial reporting. Eric graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Finance. He lives in Naperville with his wife and two sons. In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time outdoors with the family and fly-fishing.

Rick joined Ravinia Capital in 2017 as a Managing Director. He is involved with the sale of distressed companies, out-of-court restructurings and assists with Chapter 11 bankruptcy issues. Rick most recently worked at Dykema, where he had been a member of its Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group. He has played a significant role in many cases, including two ground-breaking Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases—203 North LaSalle Street, one of the largest single-asset real estate cases ever filed (where he argued before the U.S. Supreme Court), and UNR Industries, Inc., the first company to use Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code to resolve asbestos claims. Rick received his BA in History (with highest honors and high distinction) and his JD (cum laude) from the University of Michigan. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. Rick and his wife live in Streeterville. In his free time, he enjoys attending art shows, exercising, and reading.

Kris joined Ravinia Capital as an Analyst in 2017 where he provides strategic, analytic and research support for a range of industries. He is responsible for building financial models using a company’s history and providing forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics. Prior to joining Ravinia Capital, Kris worked at Stone Management Corporation where he was responsible for handling a large estate as a Financial & Management Consultant. He received his BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Kris enjoys being involved in the Chicago startup community and is active in Muay Thai, Traveling, & Adventure Sports.

Barry joined Ravinia Capital in 2017 as an Analyst after previously interning with the Company in 2015. He is responsible for financial and market analysis as well as preparing key documents to support Ravinia’s marketing efforts. He received his BA from the University of Michigan with degrees in Economics and Political Science and a minor in Business. When he is not working, Barry, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, enjoys exploring Chicago and playing golf. An avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams, Barry is beginning to learn to enjoy Chicago’s teams.
